We recommend that you wipe the rubber of your blade with a microfiber towel to clean off any contaminants from the rubber. Do this as needed, depending on your local weather conditions. We also recommend cleaning the windshield with a heavy-duty glass cleaner such as Rain-X Xtreme Clean. Oftentimes, road grime, oil, pollen, waxes, and worn rain repellant can create a film on the windshield and limit the blade from getting a clean swipe. This can cause streaking, smearing, skipping, chattering, or squeaking.
As a regular maintenance tip, in addition to wiping residue off your wiper blades, we recommend Rain-X Glass Cleaner or Rain-X 2 in 1 Glass Cleaner & Rain-Repellent to keep your windshield clean, clear, and your wiper blades performing at their best. If the wiper blades are old (1-2 years, depending on the blade), we recommend replacement. |
